Lee Roy Selmon has a story that has a family history of scholarship football with volunteering for the community. First family, he's the youngest of nine children of Lucious and Jessie Selmon raised on a farm in Eufala, Oklahoma. On the football field, he competed along with three siblings for Oklahoma. Three of them were All-Americans. In 1973, Lucious Jr. Dewey and Lee Roy were starters. Lee Roy received the Outland and Lombardi Awards for being the leading lineman of the nation. In his three years as Oklahoma's first lineman The Sooners finished three-and-a-half and won two championships. Selmon was granted a 3rd scholarship in 1975, and was named as an National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon has a bachelor's degree in the field of education. Fourth service In college Lee Roy devoted ten hours per week to volunteer projects. In Tampa the Buccaneers, he was a player for the Buccaneers nine seasons and became an all-pro. Additionally, he started a career in the field of business. In 1988, he was an Account Relation Officer at Tampa's First Florida Bank and worked for these organizations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute in the Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce recognized him as one of 10 of America's most outstanding young men. In his student days, Lee Roy was 6-2 and was weighing a little over 256 pounds. He played for his school's team in the year 1975. He became assistant director of Athletics for the University of South Florida, in 1993. In 1988 He was elected into the College Football Hall of Fame. In addition, he was inducted into the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame as well as the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The Oklahoma City Chapter of the National Football Foundation in 1989 presented the Distinguished American Award to his parents, Mr. and Mrs.. Lucious Selmon Sr. Henry Bellmon was the Oklahoma Governor that presented the award.
